The application runs quite unobtrusively from the menu bar. When you invoke it, the tool will show a translucent rectangle that represents your screen, which has the particularity of being divided into other smaller rectangles of equal size. Then, you can simply drag your mouse pointer to select the desired position and size of the active window. As soon as you click again, the window will automatically occupy the allotted space. Thus, if you follow the same procedure repeatedly, it is possible to use the workspace in such a way that it will allow you to work on various applications simultaneously.
It is good that Divvy lets you configure keyboard shortcuts to avoid positioning windows manually. Likewise, you can set the number of rows and columns in the virtual grid. However, I would have liked the application to show which spaces are already occupied, in order to avoid window overlapping.
