A bad DJ app that barely functions

DJ Music Mixer: Sound Studio claims that if you want to 'dj remix, make your own beats and remix songs', it is the right choice. It is not the right choice. The app is poorly designed, fiddly to use, and lacking the most basic features for a DJ app.

Decks for decoration only

The essence of DJing, technically, is blending one song into another, most commonly by changing the pitch of one so it has the same 'beats per minute' as the other. You cannot do this in DJ Music Mixer: Sound Studio. The app features two 'turntables', and yet you cannot manipulate them. You can't scratch or pause by touching these animated turntables, which is a huge disappointment.

A cross fader that doesn't fade

Under these non-interactive turntables is a crossfader, which is bizarrely set up backwards. When you slide to the left, you can hear the right channel, and vice versa. Very odd. Even when you accept that, with no waveform preview of tracks, finding the right point to start (or stop) a song is pretty much impossible.

There are individual EQ controls for each channel, so you can increase/decrease the bass and so on. It also features a bank of sound effects, but they don't cover the fact you can’t actually mix songs with DJ Music Mixer: Sound Studio.

This is not the DJ app you are looking for

If you want to DJ on your Android device, we'd recommend DJ Studio 5 as a much better free alternative. Do not download this app!
