DriveDx is a Mac tool for checking the built-in S.M.A.R.T. status of your drive. This program gives you access to a complete report showing various aspects regarding the current performance of your drive, such as the G-sense error rate, temperature, spin up time, and many others.
The utility helps you prevent data loss as it informs you of potential hardware problems. This way, you can have enough time to back up your important files before dealing with the imminent hardware issue.
DriveDx comes with a user-friendly interface, provides you with many useful health status details, and immediately completes the drive tests. What's more, it gives you access to a wide range of useful tips, for almost any type of test or issue.
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it lets you export the offered information to only one file format (TXT), so popular formats like RTF or PDF aren't supported. Still, TXT is a very popular file format and compatible with a wide variety of Mac programs.
Hence, I'd say you should definitely give this utility a try if you're looking for a quick way to check the current health status of your drive.
