Driver Magician Lite is a free utility to create backup copies of the drivers on your PC. It can be a useful tool if you're thinking about formatting your computer or reinstalling your operating system. The application works in a very simple manner and the Lite edition is available for free.
The application consists of a simple window that displays a list with the total number of drivers installed in your system. Drivers provided by third-party sources, that is non-Windows drivers, are marked in red to simplify selection. There is an option to select all drivers and it is possible to select individual drivers of your choice. Besides a brief description of each driver, the app shows additional info like class, version, installation date, and provider. Using these attributes, you can arrange the list in the way you find more convenient in order to make driver selection even easier.
To create a backup, you simply need to mark the drivers and select a folder where these files will be stored. If you click an item on the list, the app will show details such as device ID and the total number of files in the package.
Since the Lite edition is free, it's somewhat limited in features when compared with the standard version; it can only backup drivers, so if you need to restore them you will have to do it manually or use another program.
Overall, Driver Magician Lite is simple, reliable, and works as it should. In my test, the backup process was fast and without complications.
