Drive for Revenge in this Racing Classic

Driver: Parallel Lines is a nostalgic racing video game PC port from the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and is the fourth installment in the Driver video game series. Unlike the previous titles, this game focuses on just one city but is set on two different periods. It was first set in 1978 wherein you play as the getaway driver, T.K. He was at the top of his criminal career in New York City, but he was suddenly framed for a murder and ended up in prison for 28 years. Now out in 2006, he is back in New York and is ready to get revenge on the men who betrayed him.

Serve with a Side of Vengeance

Similar in gameplay and theme to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Driver: Parallel Lines lets you have fun in an entirely open-world environment. However, in this Driver title, New York City has two distinct looks, the city in1978 and the city in 2006. The overall look and vibe of the city and even T.K.’s clothing style will even change with the time you’re on. The game lets you experience two periods in T.K.’s life during the first playthrough. After you finish the story, you will have the ability to switch between the two eras at will.

Driver: Parallel Lines returns to the series’ roots of focusing on driving. And with the two periods available, You can collect more than 80 cars and motorcycles. The collectible vehicles range, from top-of-the-line sportscars to simple delivery vans that you can fully customize. Driver: Parallel Lines retains the ability to use weapons that the previous game offers. You can also wield a sizeable arsenal of short and long-range assault weapons. At this point, the comparison with GTA is still heavy, but Driver: Parallel Lines possesses a quirky charm with its above-average graphics that still make the game enjoyable, especially if you like the genre and concept of GTA as a whole.
