All popular image file formats are supported, including JPEG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, PCX, and some well-known RAW image files, such as ORF, DCR, and ARW. FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS file systems are also supported, and the program works seamlessly with all versions of Windows, including the new Windows 8 operating system.
The program performs a deep and thorough scan of the selected drive, showing you the number of deleted files found and the number of clusters scanned. Once the scan is over, you will be shown a list of all the image files that the program has detected, regardless of their current status. Whenever possible, the program will show a thumbnail of the deleted file, which means that the possibilities of undeleting it are very high. Those with no image associated or a very small size are likely to have been destroyed for good. To make it easier for you to narrow your searches, you are provided with some simple, yet convenient filters – by filename, by date and size, and even by “recovery status”.
The recovery process is fast and straightforward (much faster than the raw scan process that the program performs on the selected drive) and produces excellent results. It is hard to say if image files, which are considered unrecoverable by Easy Digital Photo Recovery, can be returned by other means, but the high number of hits provided suggests that the program’s algorithms are of a high reliability.
