Keeping a diary is now easier than ever. With Efficient Diary, you can edit, search, and export your entries at any time, and keep your personal thoughts and writings away from prying eyes thanks to the program’s master password. You can also back up and restore your personal notes, and classify them by date, your own mood, or by the weather on that particular date.
Efficient Diary is basically a text editor with some interesting extra features that anyone used to keeping a “pen and paper” diary will surely appreciate. Thanks to the various versions of the program, you can now have direct access to your diary regardless of where you are. The versions for Android and iOS will let you take your personal notes on the go, and the portable version will allow you to carry your diary with you on a small USB device. The program offers also a paid Pro version with even more extras, such as the possibility of adding attachments, tables, or URLs to your texts, spell check your writings, and organize them by groups and subgroups. Probably the most attractive of all the Pro features is the possibility to synchronize all of those versions of the program so that your entries are up to date at all times.
You can create and manage as many diary entries as needed. The program offers a full-text search to help you find that line you wrote some time in the past and offers you emojis to complement your writing. You can classify your writings by a specific type of weather, emotion, or simply the date when you wrote your entry. You can also add a title to your entries if you wish. Finally, you can export your texts as HTML or CSV files, though I think it’s a pity that standard text-based formats such as TXT or DOC are not an option.
Efficient Diary is a nice and easy-to-use alternative to traditional paper diaries. Its flexibility, full-text search, and its various classification methods make it a useful tool for anyone interested in keeping a written record of their most personal events and thoughts. Its encrypted master password will keep all those writings away from unwanted visitors.

Attachments are now saved directly in the same data file where other data records are saved. (In previous versions, attachments were saved in a separate folder.)
You can set categories for diary entries, and can search for records by category.
Added a "Category" column in the Diary list view.
You can set weather and emotion icons for each diary entry at the same time.
A "Privacy" option was added which allows you to set the number of recent files and to clear text records you have entered.
When the software runs at Windows startup automatically, the user can choose to allow the software to remember the file password, if this has not been done yet, to avoid entering password each time.
Other improvements are made and bugs are fixed.
