Egis is a network activity monitoring tool for the Mac. It displays all the network connections that are active and it can be configured to refresh every 5 seconds so that you can see new connections as well. Each connection will be displayed under the name of the application that established it. You can sort the list by app name, type of connection, kind, state, local address, local port, remote address and remote port. You will notice that there are different colors on the screen. Those connections in green are established connections. The blue ones are connections that are listening for traffic and those in black are closed or stand-by connections.
If you right- click on any connection, a small pop-up window will appear with all the information pertaining to that connection. You can click on any field to copy that information to the clipboard.
This app has only one setting that you can change, and that is the refresh rate. The only available value is 5 seconds. From the toolbar, you can access Mac OS X's Activity Monitor; and that is all you can do.
I honestly believe that $34.99 is a bit expensive, especially when there are other similar apps out there with a lot more functionality. Little Snitch comes to mind, and that one has notifications, voice warnings, and more useful features.
