Emicsoft iPad Manager for Mac is an iPad backup and managing tool. The application allows you to see all the music, videos, pictures, ringtones, and purchased items that you have on your iPad. You can then download any of them back to your Mac or put new content on the iPad. One of the advantages of using an app like this is that you don't have to sync the device. I really don't mind iTunes. I think it is a great tool, and at times, when I am not at home, or when I don't want to sync my device completely just to add a new song, Emicsoft iPad Manager works like a charm.
The main window shows a summary of the device that you have connected. The iPad 1 and 2 are obviously supported, but often, other iOS devices will also work. The summary shows the name of your device and the space used for music, videos, etc.
To the left, you will find each data category below the name of your connected device. You can simply click a category and select the items that you will download to transfer them back to your Mac. If you want to put content on the iOS device, all you need to do is click on "Mac to iPad" at the bottom of the screen and find the files that you want to transfer.
