Emicsoft MOV Converter for Mac is a video conversion tool that can be used to convert your MOV files into other popular formats, like FLV, AVI, MP4, WMV, MTS, SWF, VOB, and a few others. Converting from MOV to other formats was what the application was supposedly specifically designed to do, but it can also use other formats as input and convert them into any of the supported output formats. There are also conversion profiles for a good number of devices, including the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, gaming consoles like the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, portable multimedia playback devices and smartphones, tablets, etc.
The graphical user interface is very nice-looking and it is functional. If you have tried a few different video converters in the past, you have probably seen this interface in other applications. It bothers me a bit that video converters from different brands look identical, but I like this interface so much that I don't really think it is a big deal.
The app comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos, adjust brightness, contrast and saturation and add watermarks.
In my testing, I converted a 1-minute long MKV file into MOV. The process took around 30 seconds, which is fast enough for me. The resulting file looked good and played without any problems in QuickTime.
