Fanurio is a Mac application designed for freelancers who wish to keep track of the time they spend working on their projects. This utility not only monitors how many hours you took to complete your tasks but it also lets you create invoices, import client info from other Mac apps, export time sheets, and much more.
You can organize your work per each client, add as many tasks as you like with just a few clicks, and manually enter the amount of time you spent working on your chores. Furthermore, the program features an integrated timer tool. You can use it directly from the app's interface or switch to Mini Timer, a smaller window that's displayed on your desktop.
An important advantage is that Fanurio provides you with several types of reminders which come in handy while working on your projects. For example, you can configure the app to remind you to resume your timer if it was paused for more than x minutes. The reminders' options can be found within the Preferences panel.
Another thing I like is that you can send emails to your clients directly from the app's interface. All you need to do is configure the Email settings from the Preferences panel and you can start sharing info with your clients.
In my opinion, this program is an excellent addition to any freelancer's collection of Mac apps. It provides you with an easy and quick solution for monitoring work time, lets you export reports, helps you stay in touch with your clients, and is available in many languages.
v2.5
- Memory leaks - Fanurio was sometimes slow, very slow, especially when it ran for days. Our investigations showed that this happened because of some memory leaks. This means that Fanurio was consuming more and more memory as it was running. Everytime a project was opened, the timer was stopped or an invoice was exported, memory was used and never released. This was a major problem in all previous releases, so we decided to also include this fix in the 2.4.4 release so everybody can benefit from it.
- Products - The product is a new type of item that is meant to complement services. It is necessary for people who need to bill goods but it's also going to help us in the future to introduce new features like date range invoices and estimates.
