FileDefense is a utility that provides an easy-to-use interface to lock down files and ensure any unwanted access on your computer is not permitted. It stops viruses, worms, trojan horses, malicious scripts and network services from accessing personal information, passwords or any other data without your permission. When a program unknown to FileDefense is accessing files, FileDefense automatically alerts you to accept or deny the activity.

The main functionality of FileDefense comes from changing the way your OS operates by adding a layer of security at the layer that we feel is the most important - the file access layer. The way we see it, the amount of damage any application can do to you is based on whether it can access your personal files.
