Sharing files between different devices can be a time-consuming and annoying task, since one needs to connect both devices together, or use memory cards, USB devices, and so on. Thus, a program that allows you to share files between your devices using your local Wi-Fi, sounds like a great idea.
Filedrop lets you do so in an easy way. You only need to install the program in the devices you want, connect them via Wi-Fi, and start sharing files. To transfer a file from one device to another, you simply drag and drop it into the program's interface, accept the transfer in the receiving device, and that's all. The program is small and does not consume too many resources. Of course, the speed of the transfer will depend on your Wi-Fi connection and on the size of the file.
The main drawback I found is that there is not an Android app available, although it is advertised in the website. Thus, it is not possible to transfer files between your computer and a phone or tablet using Android OS. This is a huge disadvantage, since many people uses their Android mobile phones to take pictures, record video and audio files, or create other types of files when they are on the go, and then transfer them to their computers.
Other than that, I found the program very convenient to transfer files between computers. There are also iOS versions of the program.
