fireside is a lovely application that allows you to have a fireplace on your computer. The animation of the burning fire is pretty realistic and the sounds, too. The volume can be adjusted to your liking and you can view your fireplace in full screen or in windowed mode. If you choose windowed mode, the animation will be displayed like in a mini laptop computer. Moreover, the animation can also be displayed as desktop background, so you can give life to your screen in different ways.
Unfortunately, the trial version includes only one fireplace, whereas the registered version is supposed to include five different fireplaces. What is more, in the trial version, the menu with the options will remain open at all times, thus blocking the fireplace view, but I assume this will be removed when you buy the registered version.
To conclude, if you are looking for a nice animation with a fireplace to decorate your desktop background or to use it as screensaver, fireside may be an excellent choice. The price is very affordable, which is great.
