Free AnyBurn combines an excellent variety of burning-related utilities with various disc image functions to offer you a free disc application to create, burn, and convert disc images files, and to rip, clone, and erase discs. The program is compatible with all recordable CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs and with most (if not all) disc image file formats.

The program opens with a main menu where you can select among ten different processes. The various options do not seem to appear in any particular order, which doesn’t help first-time users to find their way around the menu. The burning-related functions available will allow you to burn image files to disc, burn data discs from your choice of files and folders, and audio CDs from audio files in various formats (MP3, APE, FLAC, WAV, etc.). As far as disc image files go, the options available will allow you to create new disc image files either from a selection of files and/or folders or by making a mirror image of the contents of any disc. Besides, you can convert existing disc images in nearly any format into an ISO or a BIN/CUE image file.

This tool offers you also some extra utilities that may come in handy at times. Thus, it allows you to erase rewritable discs, rip the tracks of any audio CD and save them in the format of your choice (MP3, FLAC, APE, etc.), make exact copies of any disc, and view useful information about a disc or a drive.

Useful as all these burning- and image-related utilities are, this application would certainly benefit from a more ergonomic interface design and a more intuitive navigability. However, and being as it is a free tool, it is the program’s functionality and reliability that really matters. In that regard, this is a highly reliable and useful application very much worth having installed on your PC.
