Full Frame is intended for importing photos and videos as well as editing their metadata, from different types of portable and storage devices, such as memory cards, USB sticks, cameras, iPhone and iPad. It has the advantage of allowing direct importing and previewing of file contents, i.e. without any databases or libraries. Additionally, the application allows you to view and edit metadata, and even use templates to speed up your work.

The application has an easy-to-use user interface. Its main window shows thumbnails of the photos and videos found on the source device, which makes it easy to identify them. Fortunately, it is also possible to preview the photos as slideshows, so nothing gets in the way of viewing their contents. Once the desired images have been selected, they can be imported into the local folder of your choice. Another possibility is to drag and drop the items directly to Finder or the desktop. Finally, there is an additional variant, called "tethered shooting", which consists of importing photos from a connected camera at the same moment they are taken.

Although the application is said to support all RAW file types, in fact, there are multiple unsupported types. One solution could be to import them along with their accompanying JPEG files; however, this slows down the process extraordinarily. Once the EXIF data is accessible, it is possible to view and edit it as desired. Finally, it is also possible to take advantage of the metadata to automatically rename files, including putting them in folders.

In short, Full Frame is a photo importer, viewer and metadata editor. It is very convenient for any type of user, but it is the professional photographer who can possibly get the best benefit. The product is available for free from the Mac App Store; however, its free-of-cost version has limitations in terms of the number of items you can import, delete and save. So, if you really want to use the app extensively, you will need to purchase either a full or a partial license.
