The program lets you start creating your game from scratch. It has two options: Drag-and-Drop, and Game Maker Language. A drawback of the program is that you need to create an account in the YoYo Games website in order to download the shareware version of the program. Also, it is subscription-based, meaning that you don't own the program after paying, but only have the right of using it during a year. If you intend to use it after the expiration date, then you need to pay another yearly fee. You can try the shareware version during 30 days to see if it is what you expect.
