Gas Station Simulator - Airstrip DLC is a premium downloadable content (DLC) pack that lets you add a functional airstrip near your gas station. This game utility, created for the simulation game Gas Station Simulator, is primarily story-driven instead of simply adding content to the base game. Meet a new character, build your airstrip, and start serving a new set of clients.
Unlike other add-ons, Gas Station Simulator - Airstrip DLC does not require the player’s constant attention, although theoptimization is a problem. These are more event-based scenarios. Other immersive sims include Farming Simulator 22 and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
In Gas Station Simulator - Airstrip DLC, you gain access to the titular upgrade. However, unlike other DLCs where you simply unlock and deploy, this one has a story. You meet the veteran pilot Joe and his trusty single-engine aircraft. He asks for your help and with every mission you help him with, you unlock upgrades and sections until you have a functioning airstrip, right next to your gas station.
Aside from the story-driven progression, this add-on also introduces a good range of new gameplay mechanics. The space considerations are different and this time, you also work with aviation fuel and airplane parts. For something as promising as this, however, this is not a constant engagement; it’s more of a recurring event where Joe asks for your help and work on the airstrip.
Despite its premise, story, and content variety, this DLC is prone to crashing. It’s so poorly optimized that the smallest inconvenience could cause you the entire game to crash. Even worse, unsaved data is as good as gone forever. Even without the game crashing down, there are a lot of in-game bugs. These problems affect asset rendering, movement, and even interactions — which makes the airstrip idea a waste.
Overall, the Gas Station Simulator - Airstrip DLC has some really promising concepts in place. A gas station operator that also sidelines at a restored airstrip is unheard of. However, the story and progression make everything work out, at least in concept. You get to see a new character and follow a storyline on top of managing your gas station. Unfortunately, its poor optimization makes the entire add-on difficult to enjoy.
