Gems is a simple but nice puzzle game in which you need to swap gems in order to align three or more of the same color to make them disappear from the board. The more gems you eliminate, the higher your score will be. If you cannot find any gems to swap, you can ask for a hint by pressing the Spacebar, and it will highlight the gem that you need to swap. However, using hints will decrease your score a bit. When you score a certain amount of points, you can proceed to the next level.
The game includes two modes: Relax and Wicked mode, and three difficulty levels to choose from. The Relax mode is the one I have already explained, while in the Wicked mode, you match three identical gems, but you need to press three numeric keys. I couldn't try this mode because I don't have a numeric keyboard, but I assume you need to click 1,2,3 to eliminate three adjacent gems of the same color while clicking on them. Sadly, you cannot save games, so if you quit, you start from scratch. The game includes simple graphics and sounds, and no music. You can customize the background and sounds and music volume from the Settings menu.
All in all, I really wouldn't recommend this game because there are lots of better games like this one with more enjoyable and interesting gameplay.
