GifGrabber is a simple program for Mac users who wish to easily create animated GIFs on their computer. You can capture anything running on your screen at the exact resolution you require, and immediately export the results to your local directories.
The application runs in your Menu Bar and puts a green transparent window on your desktop when you wish to start a new recording project. You can record anything that's being displayed on your screen, at any resolution you require. Once you complete the recording process, the app provides you with several output configurations.
I like the fact that you can preview, trim, and adjust the resolution of the created GIF before exporting it to your local drives. Furthermore, the program can generate a URL (upload it) for you that contains the recorded GIF; then, you can share the link with other users, without the need to export the animated GIF.
Other than that, not much more can be said about this Mac application. It simply does exactly what's being stated on the homepage of the developer and works flawlessly.
Hence, I'd say it's worth installing GifGrabber on your computer if you ever need to create animated GIFs on your Mac. The application is very simple to handle, offers you several output configurations, and can be used for an unlimited period of time without asking for any money.
v1.4 [Feb 20, 2015]
- Fixed a bug where the panel doesn't completely extend down for users of older OS X versions. On those versions, the panel may not automatically extend, and you'll simply click the Gif Grabber icon in your tray to view your GIFs.
