The GmailDefaultMaker application was developed to be a small tool that will set Gmail as the default mailto: client. Yahoo, AOL, and Hotmail are now also supported.
The Gmail compose message webpage opens with the To: box filled in automatically instead of a desktop client like Outlook, Windows Live Mail, or Thunderbird.
