Sync and secure various files such as photos, music, emails, and other critical data across multiple devices, including desktops, laptops, servers, and external drives. Effortlessly create synchronization tasks with options for one-way backup or two-way sync.
GoodSync is a data synchronization and backup tool. It is excellent that the tool supports not only standard folders but also mapped drives, FTP sites, portable devices and even some Cloud storage services, such as SFTP, Amazon S3, Google Drive, SkyDrive, WebDAV, and Azure. Unfortunately, its interface can be somewhat difficult to understand, mostly for inexperienced users.
To use the program, you should first configure a backup or synchronization job, depending on your purpose. On the one hand, a backup works in one way, from the source to the target directory. It updates old files or copies new ones. On the other, a synchronization transfers data in two ways so that both ends contain the latest version of any file. Luckily, you can set filters to exclude or include the files matching the specified name patterns.
Since synchronizing data poses the risk of losing some information, it is great news that the tool lets you run a given task in the preview mode. This way you can foresee changes before they are actually performed. Finally, you can schedule tasks to execute automatically at a given time or with a certain frequency.
There is a new feature that caught my attention. It is called GoodSync and sets a P2P connection between two machines, which favors speed and preserves privacy.
To sum up, it is always a good idea to use a utility like GoodSync to automate the synchronization of contents when you work on different machines. Likewise, it can help you preserve valuable files by backing them up on other media. The program is shareware and can be tested for a limited period of time, after which it will continue to work but with several limitations as to the number of jobs and files. There are various editions, such as Personal, GoodSync2Go, GoodSync for Server OS, GoodSync File Server and GoodSync Control Center.

* Access Your Files Remotely From Any Computer or Device - Use GoodSync Connect to connect to your computer to browse, access and transfer files from anywhere.
