To assist the user in achieving computer control over the frequently used transceivers and receivers, Ham Radio Deluxe is a useful suite of Windows programs featuring a free amateur radio software, which also comes along with mapping, and satellite tracking abilities.
The application includes a digital mode program called the Digital Master 780, and HRD is basically a freeware for Shortwave Listeners (SWLs), Radio Amateurs, and charitable organizations, however its use by the commercial organizations and government institutions is subject to a license.
The application has been structured and tuned to support most of the VHF, HF, and UHF amateur radio transceivers as well as receivers. It offers support to Yaesu, ICOM, Elecraft, Ten-Tec FlexRadio, and Kenwood along with more, and the complete list is available in the user community. Its salient features and benefits include built-in logbook, Favorites, Integrated DX cluster, Customizable band layouts, Satellite tracking interface, Scanning, and the ability to synchronize up to ten instances of HRD.
