Finder, Mac's default file explorer, doesn't provide you with a Cut option (move a file or folder to another location) within its contextual menu. One tedious solution would be to copy the file or directory to the new location and delete the original document or folder. HandleFiles is a program for Mac that offers you a quicker way to complete the aforementioned task.
This Menu Bar application is very simple to handle, uses a minimum amount of CPU resources, and immediately makes the necessary document or folder changes. All you need to do is to select the file or directory you wish to copy, cut or delete, choose the correspondent option from the HandleFiles main menu, and the app will complete the task.
In addition, the program also features an option to quickly empty the Trash and undo any file or directory location changes.
But the aspect I like the most about this application is that it communicates well with Mac's default Mail app. To be more exact, you can choose the documents you wish to share via email (hold Command button and click over the documents you need to share), click the Attach Selected Files To Mail button from the main menu of HandleFiles, and the Mail app immediately opens with all documents attached to a new message.
All in all, HandleFiles is a simple yet very helpful program that helps you manage the files and folders on your Mac. And since it comes without a price tag, I can't find any reason why you shouldn't try it on your computer.
