Optimize the quality of digital photos. Select the images in compatible formats and process them according to the limitations of the source raw footage and the available enhancement options. Work with tools for alignment, ghost reduction, light control, color space management, etc.
HDR Darkroom is intended to process your photographs, particularly those taken by cameras with no support of high dynamic range (HDR). The program can import practically any picture file type, including various RAW formats.
The tool has a modern dark interface, and its most common functions will pose no difficult for most users. You start using the program by loading the desired photo. Unfortunately, unlike other similar tools, HDR Darkroom does not allow drag-and-drop operations, so you have to browse all the way to the intended folder and picture. Such common operation as cropping and rotating are available from the bottom of the window.
Fortunately, there are multiple presets you can try before definitely applying changes to the photo. They are available from the right-side panel and it is great that you compare the original with the modified version with just a click. However, I feel a side-by-side comparison is missing.
If you are not satisfied with the selected preset, you can still manually customize several parameters, such as color, tone, smooth, saturation and exposure. It even allows setting lens and curves correction. Another possibility is to load a set of similar images taken with different exposure values and let the program do the merging for you. Great news is that you can process batches of photographs. All you need to do is to pick the source and output folders as well as set the desired filter. Unluckily, this option does not allow previewing the changes.
All in all, HDR Darkroom can enhance your photographs with HDR filters. The results are excellent, so the tool can be used to emulate expensive HDR equipment. This product is shareware, so my advice is to try it and check the results.
