What it actually does is count the number of times you have won and then make the game harder. The more times you lose, then the easier the game becomes. They make the game harder by protecting one of the enemy players. In addition, if you play and win for long enough, then you notice how the cards are distributed to the point of being able to guess which player has which cards. It is an okay Hearts game, but it lacks the complexity that is needed to keep hardcore Hearts fans playing.
