Helium is a program designed for Mac that brings you an innovative way to browse the web. This utility has a main window that floats on top of other running applications from your desktop.
Besides staying on top of every window from your screen, Helium also provides you with an option to adjust its transparency level. This way, you can see what's under the browser screen, eliminating the need to switch between windows by pressing the Command+Tab keys or by using your mouse.
All you need to do is to go to the main menu of the app, click the "Location" button, and enter the URL of the page you wish to visit. The application doesn't have an address bar where you can type the URL. You can change the resolution of the main window and move the screen anywhere on your desktop.
On the downside, the program comes with a small amount of features. For instance, it doesn't let you install any extensions (for example, an ad blocker), manage bookmarks, download files from the web, etc.
All in all, Helium is a great solution for multi-task users who want to keep their browser windows on top of other running programs. However, as I mentioned before, the app is quite limited feature-wise. But since it's free to use, I don't see any harm in giving it a try on your Mac.
