HiddenMe Free is a simple Menu Bar application that provides you with a quick way to clean up your desktop. This program enables you to hide the icons within your screen with just one click, without slowing down the performance of other running utilities.
You don't need much computer experience in order to handle this tool on your Mac. Just go to its menu from the status bar and select the "Hide Desktop Icons" option. Click the same button to reverse the aforementioned action. The app will immediately apply the necessary desktop changes.
You can also define a global hotkey for immediately hiding or revealing files on your desktop.
In my testing, the program worked flawlessly. It took less than a second to hide my desktop icons and didn't use many CPU resources in the process.
The one thing that bothers me is the fact that it doesn't offer you support for multiple monitors. Still, you can acquire the Pro version of this program if you want to have access to the aforementioned feature.
