HieroNote 2.0

HieroNote is an educational application that is designed to help us learn the meaning of the hieroglyphs, the fascinating written method used by the ancient Egyptians. Hieroglyphic writing, which was used to profusely decorate the Egyptian tombs and monuments, gives us vital information about the Egyptians’ daily lives, their commercial trips, feelings, after life beliefs, wars, etc. The meaning of hieroglyphs scripts had remained a complete mystery until the discovery of the Rosetta stone. This program is aimed at teaching us the complete hieroglyphics alphabet, plus up to 120 determinatives and their influence on the meaning of the words. We may also learn to decipher over 425 original hieroglyphs, including the mistakes made by the scribes themselves. Furthermore, this application enables us to type any word/name/text we like, and as we type along, we can view that same typed string written below in hieroglyphic fonts. There is also a quiz that is divided into four categories for us to test our achievements. The context-sensitive user interface can be easily managed by everyone. The printing feature is only available in the registered version. Although the free evaluation version has no time limitation we can only access the beginning of each lesson/learning category.
