Automatically transliterates English words into Hindi characters. Supports Hindi and Devangri fonts. Works with other popular applications like Word, PowerPoint, or Excel.

Hindi is one of the two official languages spoken in India. This program lets you transliterate different Hindi-written words into the common Latin alphabet and vice versa. Thus, for example, you can check how an English word can be written in the Hindi alphabet. To do this, you only need to type the word you need to transliterate into the lower box of the program's interface. The transliteration will appear automatically in the upper box. The program also includes a preset list of Hindi words with their corresponding Latin transliterations, as well as a function that shows each Hindi letter and its equivalent in the Latin alphabet.

Please note that the program does not translate from one language into another. Thus, to make a good use of it, you need to have a good knowledge of the Hindi language to write correctly in the Latin alphabet the words you need to transliterate into Hindi.

The main advantage of the program is that you don't need a Hindi keyboard (physical or virtual), or to install Hindi fonts because the program already has several of them preinstalled.

Besides its limited usefulness, a major drawback I found is that the Help file cannot be used; it yielded the "Feature not included - Help not supported" error in Windows. Thus, if you need help on how to use any of the program's functions, you will need to turn to the trial and error method. Also, the cost of the program is not very affordable.

You can evaluate the shareware version during 15 days. If you find it useful and want to use it longer, then you will need to purchase a license.
