iCoolsoft Media Converter Pack for Mac combines a video converter and a DVD ripper. These tools should be sufficient for any user who wants to back up their DVD movie collection to video files for safe-keeping or to convert video and audio files to other formats. Both applications come with a variety of conversion profiles for devices like iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, gaming consoles like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PSP and other multimedia playback devices.
When you run this application, you will see a launcher that lets you access the two programs that come with this pack. You can only run one of them at a time. Both applications share a similar design, they both have a video player and the same output format support.
My testing of the DVD ripper consisted in ripping a DVD title, trimming it to a 1-minute clip and then converting it to an H.264 file. I did the same with the video converter, but the file that I used was an MKV file, with a resolution of 720p. Both completed the task in a good time and the resulting files looked great. I like that the DVD ripper can hard-code subtitles on your videos, which means that you can enjoy them in devices that do not support subtitles natively.
