iCoolsoft MPEG Converter for Mac is a video conversion utility. It can be used to convert MPEG files to another dozen or so formats. Also, you can convert other videos to MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 as well. These formats were widely used in the past to create VCD and S-VCD movies, but with the advent of the DVDs and Blu-rays those formats are in disuse these days. However, the PS3 and XBOX 360 do support these formats, and you can convert your video files to play them on those devices with this converter. I would recommend using other, more modern formats if you want to play videos on those consoles, though.
The application comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties, like brightness, contrast and saturation, and it can even add watermarks to your video clips.
The graphical user interface looks nice and it is simple, which makes it very easy to navigate. It includes a video player in the main window so that you can play your videos before converting them.
The output format support isn't great, and it is worse than most of the other converters by iCoolsoft, some of which also support the MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 formats.
