iFileX is a capable program for Mac users who wish to easily and quickly find files on their computer. This application comes as an alternative to Mac's Spotlight tool, but with a larger amount of search filters and the ability to select which folder or volume to scan for the needed files.
You can choose from various search filters (search by name, modification date, size, etc.), look for files within Mac's volumes, folders or connected drives, and sort the search results according to your needs. I also like that the application finds and shows all hidden files and duplicates once the search process is complete.
Another advantage of iFileX is the fact that it lets you preview images or pre-listen songs after the search process is complete, without using third party apps to open them.
I didn't like the fact that, if you connect your mobile phone or USB stick to your Mac after you launch iFileX, the program fails to recognize and display the external drives within the search filters. The only way to solve this issue is to restart the application and the connected devices will appear in the search filter list.
To sum things up, iFileX is a simple yet effective program for Mac that provides you with an easy way to find files on your computer or any device connected to your PC. The application brings a user-friendly interface, lets you select as many search filters as you need, and offers you the results you need within moments.
