iFlicks is basically a video converter with good importing features. The application was designed to let you convert your video collection to formats that can be played on iTunes and other Apple devices, such as iPhones, iPods, and iPads. It doesn't have the extensive output format support that other converters have, but it has a set of features that make conversion to iTunes an easy task. For example, the application uses conversion profiles for your Apple devices, it can even convert files for playback on hacked AppleTVs.

Perhaps one of the most interesting features this app has is metadata support. Apparently, when you add a file to the interface, iFlicks automatically grabs information about it based on metadata and it returns information about the file. I added a sample file that I downloaded from the Internet and iFlicks automatically knew what TV show it was from, and its season and episode number.

In my testing, I converted a few AVI files into iPod/iPhone. The process took only about 8 minutes for a 15-minute clip. The file was then automatically added to iTunes, from where I could send it to my iPhone.

All in all, this app works great and it looks cool. It is convenient, but you can probably use a free video converter and get the same results. The trial version is full-featured and works well.
