iFunia AVCHD Converter is a video conversion tool that can be quite useful for owners of HD camcorders. These devices can film video in high resolutions and their quality is often great. The only problem is that the files that they output are not supported by the majority of the most popular video playback devices. With this application, you can load those files and convert them into formats like H/.264, MPEG-4, MKV, DV, DivX, XviD, and others. Most modern video formats are supported as output. There are also a lot of conversion profiles, which are pre-configured conversion settings. These should make it easier for you to convert your recordings for playback on specific devices like the iPad, iPhone, and Xbox 360, or Playstation 3.

This program has very limited input format support, so make sure that your recorder outputs files in one of the supported formats before purchasing. Thankfully, the trial version is fully functional and it only limits the length of the files that you can convert. If your file is longer than 5 minutes, only the first five will be converted. If it is shorter, only half of your video will be converted.

iFunia AVCHD Converter comes with a basic video editor that can trim and crop videos and adjust some of their properties. It doesn't boast the best performance I have seen but it works most of the time.
