iMacsoft DVD to Apple TV Converter is a commercial DVD ripper. You can use this application to convert your DVD movies into video files that can be played on your AppleTV. As you may know, not all the formats can be played on it. This app can output files in the following video formats: H.264 and MPEG-4 for video and M4A, AAC and MP3 for audio. All of those formats will play just fine on the AppleTV.
This application's graphical user interface is very clean and to the point. There is some on-screen help on the right side of the window when you first launch the application. After you load a DVD movie, that will be replaced with a listing of all the DVD titles that make up the DVD movie. On the left, you will find the conversion settings. Under a drop-down menu, there are are over 40 different conversion profiles for devices like the iPhone, iPhone 4, iPad, Apple TV, and some iPods. You can also choose the audio formats directly if you just want to rip a DVD movie into an audio file. At the bottom of the screen, there are a few buttons that let you add a movie, open the video trimmer, and start the conversion process, among other things.
In short, this is a nice DVD ripper that will let you convert files for playback not only on the AppleTV, but also on other Apple devices.
