iMacsoft iPod to Mac Transfer is an iPod backup tool. It allows you to copy the contents of your iPod back to your Mac. The application can detect music, movies, books, ringtones, voice memos, photos, SMSs, contacts, calls, and voice memos. I tested this app with an iPhone, and it was detected just fine. Other iOS devices should work as well.
The main window shows all the data categories listed below your device's name on the left part of the screen. From there, you can access different windows that let you check the items that you want to copy to your Mac. Let me use the Music screen as an example. There, all the songs that I have on my iPhone are listed. I can check individual items or all of them at the same time to copy them. There isn't however an option that lets you backup your entire iPod or iPhone.
You can also use this app to put songs on your iOS device. You simply select the MP3 file that you want to add, and it gets uploaded. The process was quick and it worked well.
The only thing that I don't like about this app is that it doesn't show snapshots of the pictures on my iPhone. It lists them all, but its hard to know which one I want to backup this way. Also, it doesn't seem to have a music player so I can listen to songs or memos straight from the application.
