iMacsoft Mobile Phone Video Converter is a commercial video converter. As the name suggests, it was designed to convert video files so that they can be played on mobile phones. Now there are a lot of different phones out there, and they all can play mostly the same formats. This application can output files in quite a few different formats, including MPEG-4, H.264, MOV, 3G2, 3GP, AVI, AMR, DivX, TS, and more. There is also support for audio formats. It also supports a lot of different input formats. I opened AVI and MKV files with no problems.
Once you have loaded a file into the application, you have to decide what conversion profile you want to use. They are listed on a drop-down menu on the left part of the screen. From the advanced settings pane, you can further customize the process.
There is a video player on the top-left part of the screen, which you can use to play the video files that you load. There is also a small editor that allows you to trim your videos into smaller clips.
In my testing, I converted an MKV file to the 720p iPhone H.264 profile. The resulting file played great on VLC.
