ImTOO iPad Mate is quite a useful application for iOS users. It can be used to manage pretty much any iOS device, including the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and other, older products. Several versions of iOS are supported as well. The devices that I did my testing with both had iOS 5 installed and they worked like a charm, but the application has been recently updated to add support for iOS 6 and the new iPhone 5.
Basically, what you can do with this application is transfer content from and to your devices. This allows you to bypass the syncing process with iTunes which is useful when you want to transfer content to a computer that is not your home Mac or for some reason can't sync your device with iTunes.
Some of the types of content that you can backup using this tool are: photos, music, books, movies, ringtones, contacts, apps and notes. To transfer content from the device to your Mac, all you have to do is select a file or files and click on the "Copy files to computer" button. You can also copy files to an iTunes library directly or to other iOS devices connected to your Mac. Transferring files the other way (to your iOS device) is also easy. The fourth button on the bottom toolbar will open a "select file" dialog where you can select the files that you want to transfer. The application also comes with a video converter and DVD ripper so that you can convert your files and transfer them from within the application. The format support is good in the video converter, and it comes with conversion profiles for most Apple devices.
In short, ImTOO iPad Mate is a very complete iOS device management solution with support for most Apple products. It comes with a video converter and a ripper, and it lets you transfer data both to and from your devices. There is also a "Platinum" version with even more features.
