InstaCalc is a simple Mac utility that enables you to make basic and complex calculations on your computer and immediately provides you with the accurate results you require. The application gives you access to several equation examples which you can use as guides when writing your own calculation entries.
This program comes as an alternative to using Mac's default calculator app for writing equations. The most obvious difference between the two utilities is that InstaCalc lets you include text content in your equations. For instance, you can write x = 10 cm in inches; the app will convert the cm value to inches and offer you the correct result on the right side of the screen.
Another thing that's different is that InstaCalc doesn't feature number buttons. Personally, I don't find this aspect disturbing. I usually use my numpad for writing equations.
I also like the fact that you can hit a certain combination of keys (Command+Shift+i) to immediately reveal the main window of the application.
In conclusion, it's worth installing InstaCalc if you wish to have access to a nicely-designed and efficient calculator tool. Mac's default utility isn't as appealing as this program. Plus, InstaCalc is free of charge.
