iTool DVD to Apple TV Converter is a commercial DVD ripper. The application allows you to convert your DVD movies into files that can be played on your AppleTV. It supports two different codecs: MPEG-4 and H.264. There are six conversion profiles in total. Three of them use H.264 and the other three make use of MPEG-4. The resolutions used by the profiles range from 320x240 to 1280x720, also called 720p. Although this is a converter for the AppleTV, the files that this app outputs can be played on the iPhone, iPad, etc.
Graphically, this application looks like most other commercial converters and rippers. If you compare it with the video converters from iTool, this one looks 10 times better, and it is better designed.
Although iTool DVD to Apple TV Converter, and all the other apps that I have tested from iTool, doesn't have a video editor, you can still trim videos by manually typing the start and end time that you want to use.
In short, this ripper works very well. However, it is missing a video editor and the profiles available are not the best. Other commercial rippers offer better format support, better profiles, and a video editor for the same or a lower price.
