Joboshare iPhone Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It was designed to let you convert video files to H.264 and MPEG-4 files, so that you can play them on your iPhone. Of course, if those files play on your iPhone, they will also play on the iPad, iPod lineup, and pretty much any modern device.
Graphically, the converter isn't anything great. It uses a rather simple graphical user interface. When you first start the application, you will see a pane that contains some tips on how to use the app. After you add files to your conversion queue, they will appear on this pane to the right. To the left, you will find the conversion settings. There is a drop-down menu that contains all the conversion profiles available. There are over 30 different profiles for you to choose from.
Although this app doesn't include a video editor, you can use a trimming feature to shorten your clips or simply to select a segment and convert that.
In my testing, I converted an MKV file into the iPhone 4 H.264 720p profile. The file converted fine and it looked great.
There are PPC and Intel versions of this app. The Intel version worked just fine on Mac OS X Lion.
