This utility might prove to be of good use if you wish to leave your computer while it's completing a given task, like data download or upload. With its help, you can prevent your Mac from entering sleep mode while you're away.
KeepingYouAwake lives on your Menu Bar from where you can change the way it operates. You can choose between various intervals of time for blocking your Mac from entering sleep mode, configure the app to automatically launch at system start, etc.
There's also an option for deactivating KeepingYouAwake if your battery capacity is less than a defined value.
Two things I'd change about this app. First of all, I'd add an option to define your own interval of time for preventing your Mac from entering sleep mode. The application only lets you choose between several profiles, such as 5 Minutes, 10 Minutes,..., 5 Hours, and Indefinitely. I would also like the ability to define a global hotkey for immediately activating the app's sleep mode blocking feature.
Still, this program works flawlessly and comes without a price. So, you can test it for free and then decide if it's worth keeping it on your Mac or it is better to look for a different application.
