Key Codes is a program designed for computer programmers. This application might come in handy if you need to identify the codes, unicode values, and the state of any key you type on your computer.
The utility comes with a straightforward interface, immediately displays the necessary information, and doesn't slow down your Mac at all while it's running. Key Codes gives you access to useful details about the characters you enter as you type them.
Furthermore, you can always erase the offered information by clicking the Clear button from the main window of the application.
Unfortunately, the program sometimes fails to display any information about certain key combinations. Another disadvantage is the fact that you cannot copy to clipboard the offered key details.
Other than that, not much more can be said about this utility. Even though it sometimes fails to offer you the information you need about key combinations, I still think it's worth giving it a try on your Mac. What's more, you don't have to pay a buck to use it on your computer.
