KRyLack RAR Password Recovery is a tool that can recover the passwords that block the access to RAR archives. So if you no longer can open and extract a RAR archive because you don't know the assigned password, this small utility could get you out of this trouble. This tool is meant to recover the passwords that you forgot or lost, and that were assigned to RAR archives that you own and are entitled to access.

In order to retrieve the unknown password, KRyLack RAR Password Recovery uses different cracking methods: the one based on simple brute-force attacks, the one using brute-force attacks and masks (custom mask-characters), and the one that uses a dictionary file. For any of this, additional settings can be customized according to your liking, in order to shorten up the retrieval time. For example, you can select a specific password length, custom character sets, and so on. Anyway, the cracking speed is far from being a benefit when it comes to this tool. In other words, as far as I could notice, KRyLack RAR Password Recovery is really slow when it's trying to crack a password. Using brute-force and normal application priority, the cracking speed was of less than 10 passwords per second.

The interface of KRyLack RAR Password Recovery is customizable and supports some skins, but I wasn't exactly fond of it, as I consider that putting the “start” and “stop” buttons in line with the other menu options makes it be less intuitive than it could have been.

Anyway, though rather slow and unintuitive, KRyLack RAR Password Recovery is a tool worth being taken into consideration whenever you need recovering passwords for RAR files. It eventually gets its job done, and that's what matters the most.
