In order to facilitate the data conversion and access to winmail.dat files, Christopher Atlan created Letter Opener Lite, a smart Mac utility that helps users to browse the content of winmail.dat files without leaving the Mail application.
After the installation is complete, individuals need to access the program from the bar menu. The GUI looks minimalistic and doesn't let users perform additional configurations. Yes, the memory usage is low, but the program lacks small graphical touches.
