Locker is a simple yet efficient application for Mac that lets you lock files and folders on your computer. You can work with this program to prevent unauthorized users from altering the content of private documents or deleting files without your permission.
As you probably know by now, Mac users can change file and folder access permissions by using Finder app. You can right-click the item's icon, go to Get Info menu, and make the necessary modifications. Locker offers you an easier solution for making this access restriction changes.
All you need to do in order to lock a file or folder is to drag and drop it over the app's icon (from the Dock). The same thing goes for unlocking documents or folders (drag and drop protected items over the app's icon) and the program immediately changes the restriction options.
The thing I don't like about this security tool is the fact that even though you lock a folder filled with documents, unauthorized users can still open the folder and check its files. However, they can't send any of the protected files to Trash or modify their content.
To conclude, this application provides you with an easy and quick solution for locking files and folders on your Mac. The program is very simple to handle, sits quietly on your Dock, and doesn't come with a price tag.
