It is still a popular topic for fiction despite being used over and over again. The game takes place in a fictionalized version of the Three Kingdoms. Players assume the role of a nameless hero and they are hired by General Ling Tong to liberate the country. The nation has been overrun by evil and it’s up to the players to save the citizens from devastation. Players begin by selecting a game server. The tutorial mode may take a long time to complete as it explains the core game mechanics. Clearing the first quest line will allow the players to explore more of the game. The combat can be set manually or automatically. Heroes and generals are represented as chibi characters despite having high-resolution character portraits. They are divided into three classical Chinese states and a non-described state: Wei, Shu, Wu, and Others. Heroes are ranked as Rare, Epic and Legendary. Higher ranking heroes have better stats, skills and more gorgeous character portrait. Each character can be enhanced by equipment, upgrades and leveling up. The pieces of equipment can also be strengthened up to match with the hero level. Winning each combat increases the player level, along with receiving dropped items. The main advantage of leveling up is unlocking more game contents and quests. The game has quests for unlocking some characters or “concubines”. Each quest is presented in a linear path with dialogs. The game has narration but the English voice acting is not that excellent. Completing the main quest lines will yield better items and consumables. Once a concubine has been unlocked, players can spend time with them by raising Affection points. They can send gifts, as well as attract the ladies. Raising Affection points is important to boost the hero ranking. Players can get more heroes by trying the gacha draw. Those who have logged in for 7 days straight will be rewarded with a free SSS-ranking General. Getting more heroes will build up the player’s Hiring Points, along with bonus recruiting for a guaranteed Legendary Hero.
The game has PVP Arena Global Competitions where players can send their army against rival players. Special PVP rewards await for the winner.
