Machanic was created for Mac users who wish to optimize the performance of their systems with just a few clicks. This utility helps you immediately get rid of junk files, remove duplicates, delete large old documents and uninstall programs quickly.
Once you launch the application on your Mac, it automatically starts scanning the contents of your local drives. It finds unnecessary data like user logs or cache files, duplicated documents, old videos or pictures and records of all installed apps. All found data is nicely organized into four panels: Junk Cleaner, Spage Manager, Duplicate Files Finder and App Uninstaller.
You can choose which files or apps to remove permanently from your computer. The app also lets you preview the found duplicates or large files before launching the deletion process.
Another good thing is that the program features a built-in help guide which comes in handy to average computer users who are new to this type of apps.
However, this utility isn't the best system optimization tool. Machanic lacks options to find and delete leftover files (data left behind after you uninstall a program from your Mac) and an extension manager (a tool to find and remove browser extensions, Finder plugins, etc.). Furthermore, you can't access the Preferences panel while the app is scanning the contents of your drives.
Another important disadvantage is the fact that you cannot stop or pause the scanning process.
In conclusion, I think you can find better solutions for optimizing the performance of your Mac.
