Macromedia’s Authorware enables you to create rich e-learning applications and courseware to be used with LMS systems. This courseware and application framework conforms to standards of the AICC and ADL SCORM. You can import content from MS-PowerPoint and integrate it with other multimedia content such as video and graphics to create a true e-learning for your users.
What I like most about Authorware was the Knowledge Objects feature, which enables you to use pre-built templates and wizards. This allows drag and drop objects from its gallery into the authoring pages to develop dynamic content. You can also create interactive graphical buttons, check boxes, radio buttons and other graphic elements. There are also inbuilt interface controls such as buttons, check boxes and radio buttons, which you can use on the pages. The program also has a module that allows you to track student’s performance on the e-learning application.
One of Authorware’s stand out features is the extensible command menu, which enables you to assign commands and functions to buttons on the command menu to often used tasks and actions. It also has a rich text editor, allowing you to import RTF files, embed graphics, shapes, symbols and linked text. You can also import and export XML files.
Paste pre-defined text templates quickly on web browsers, text editors, etc.
